Malta has grown to become a hub for aviation services and a register of choice for aircraft, both white bodied aircraft as well as business jets, and moreover for aircraft operators and managers.
The White Paper launched by the Malta Government, closely followed by the Aircraft Registration Act in 2010, served as the launch pad. Malta has been able to provide owners, operators and investors and other major players in the aviation industry with a solid legal framework and a creditor-friendly environment.
The ratification of the Cape Town Convention on International Interests in Mobile Equipment and its Protocol has also brought Malta in line with international aviation finance and leasing standards and facilitation of asset-based financing. Malta also introduced other incentives for operators including fiscal, operational and administrative measures.
Due to these developments, Malta has earned a reputation as an advantageous aviation jurisdiction, and continues in this path even today. The success is not only linked to registration of operators and aircraft under 9H, its also maintenance, repair, production of aircraft components and other related areas that have built their foundations in Malta and further solidified Malta’s position as a prime destination for all types of aviation projects.
We have been part of this success story since 2010 by providing an array of specialized services to our clients in our various areas of competence whether its the set up of an operator business obtaining an AOC and AOL, aircraft registration, Customs and VAT, or aircraft finance.
